Dirt
What’s going on over here and what am I working on?
Working on graphic novels are a marathon, not a sprint. I’ve been slowly inking Exposures for months now and I will continue to do so for a few more.

What’s helping nourish my mind and creativity right now?
Literally water and plants.
When you live at a high altitude, your summer is short. Finally, everything is green and I’m loving it! The flowers are blooming and the bees are buzzing.
Grow
The results of the hard labor.
When I was starting out, I saw an author post their #shelfie (a thing we used to do in the 20-teens). On their bookshelf, they had translated copies of their books, and seeing it made me think, “Wow, that’s a career goal of mine!”
Getting the translated copies in the mail is always a joy and when it happens I think about how my bookshelf is slowly growing to look like that author’s bookshelf. The funny thing about translated versions is there’s usually no warning when they appear. So when they show up it’s the best surprise!
Every time it’s published in another country, a translator gets to take your words and adapt them. Then readers who I couldn’t even speak to get to read it! It’s just such a wonderful and exciting thing!
If you didn’t already catch it — Karen Schneemann, my Look On The Bright Side co-author, and I were on the Cycle Chats Break The Cycle podcast! We had a great time talking to hosts Emily and Stephanie. I’ve been a fan of the podcast for a while and it was so exciting to be asked to be on it. Check out our episode anywhere you get your podcasts and on their Youtube.
